Develop the schemes and evaluate
advantages and disadvantages with respect to the architecture, budget
and available construction techniques. Prepare preliminary
foundation and framing layout drawings. Prepare outline
specifications.
Construction Documents
Complete structural calculations.
Produce thorough and concise drawings and specifications to convey the
design intent. Assist in establishing testing and inspection

Assist the owner and architect in
selecting qualified contractors.

Provide review of shop drawing submittals

General Condition Assessments
Whether for a potential purchase or to
inventory the condition of an existing structure for internal users,
TSG can provide expert assessments of the condition of a
structure. This can include a written report describing the
general structural systems, their conditions, their capacities and an
evaluation of the capacities and serviceability towards an intended
use.
Distressed Structures and Exterior
Facade Repair
For structures in distress, TSG can
provide an evaluation of the existing conditions as described above
along with opinions as to the likely causes of the distress, and an
outline of alternative methods of repair. TSG can develop
complete construction documents for structural repairs and provide
construction administration services during construction. TSG
provides facade inspections in accordance with the City of Chicago
Exterior Facade Inspection Ordinance (Critical and Ongoing Maintenance
Examinations).

documentation, TSG's vast experience with varied materials, systems and

Historic Structures and Adaptive Reuse
TSG's experience includes buildings from
the mid 19th century forward. We have worked with numerous
historic
structural systems including wrought iron, cast iron riveted
construction, clay tile arch, heavy timber and bulb tee construction.
Seismic and Wind Load Analysis and
Retrofit
TSG has upgraded structures to meet
current wind and seismic codes whether for renovations or
